If a user has installed Notes Traveler on a Google Nexus 9 device, and has also chosen the external storage option, then upgrading the device to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) can cause Notes Traveler to crash and become non-functional.
This is a known, open issue with the Android 5.0 upgrade on Google Nexus 9 devices wherein the underlying database code identifies files as read only when they are not. This issue can cause Notes Traveler to crash and not work at all after the OS update.
To avoid this issue:
-- Option 1: Postpone updating the device to Android 5.0 until the issue is resolved.
-- Option 2: Prior to updating the OS, uninstall Notes Traveler and then reinstall choosing the internal storage option.
To recover from the issue:
For a device that has already updated and is experiencing crashes, uninstall Notes Traveler and then reinstall choosing the internal storage option.. To uninstall Notes Traveler, go to OS settings, security, Manage Device Administrators, and uncheck "IBM Notes Traveler", then go to the Application manager and uninstall the Traveler application.
