Problem
Customer started getting invalid wait state code 0002000180000000000000000002885e.
Symptom
When the customer IPLs the continually get wait state code 0002000180000000000000000002885e, which is not a z/OS wait state code nor a SADUMP wait state code. They tried IPLing from a restored mirror copy and it still fails.
Cause
A check of the image load panel, for the failing system, showed that SCSI Dump option was selected instead of normal or clear.
Environment
z/OS 2.1 native mode
Diagnosing The Problem
Review of the image load panel showed the wrong option was selected.
Resolving The Problem
Setting the field to normal allowed the IPL to complete successfully.
