Abstract
Gentran Server for Unix and The Visual Mapper
Body
In June 2011 Gentran Server for Unix went through a process of being brought under the IBM Product Umbrella. A new version called Gentran Server for Unix Version 6.2 was released. This new version no longer contains the Visual Mapper Editor, which was the legacy mapper used in all versions up to 6.1. Many customers found out at that time that the Visual Mapper editor was no longer available for the remaining 6.0 Service Pack 2 or 6.1 versions upon a new installation or download. This lead to the most frequently asked question.. Is there a conversion tool available? The answer is No.
However you can still use the visual maps in 6.1 or 6.2. If you do not have the visual map editor you can not edit, or create new visual map.
To assist customers who need the maps converted, and are not comfortable doing it themselves we have enlisted the assistance of a few of our Business Partners to do so.
