Question & Answer

Question

Generate an Incremental Search Index

Answer

Generate an Incremental Search Index

About this task

Overa period of time you may have added new products features datasheets and so on to your product catalog. You may have also decidedthat certain search characteristics are more important than othersand should therefore be weighed differently. In such a scenario youmust generate a new index based on an existing index as also the productcatalog changes made since the existing index was built. An incrementalindex build is the best way of generating an index when you have madeonly a few changes to the corresponding catalog. In such a scenariobuilding an incremental index takes less time to complete than creatinga new index.

You can generate an incrementalsearch index from the Item Catalog Index List screen.
