The Future of the Internet: Ipv6

White Papers

Abstract

Internet Protocol is a standard of communication for the world wide web. Version 4 has been the most common protocol to date with a system of managing everything connected on the internet and the correspondence of information. IPv4 is limited in capability to keep up with increasing internet connectivity and emerging technologies, such as IoT. IP version 6 was developed to allow for significantly more internet connections and to provide additional security and flexibility with communications. Comparing IPv4 and IPv6 reveals the benefits of switching to the newer protocol and the widespread of growth of version 6 today.
