Problem
Unable to Create a new user group using the GUI.
Symptom
When attempting to create a new User Group using the GUI, sometimes the FlashSystem GUI may return an error:
"CMMVC5707E Required parameters are missing"
Cause
The cause is a bug that affects firmware level 1.5.2.5 in which the "role" parameter is omitted from the GUI command. It is believed to occur only using the Firefox browser on Linux.
Environment
Firefox browser on Linux and FlashSystem firmware version 1.5.2.5.
Diagnosing The Problem
When running the command in the GUI, expand the dialog to see all the messages as shown above. You will see this message:
"CMMVC5707E Required parameters are missing"
Resolving The Problem
There are several workarounds:
- Re-run the command using the GUI and in most cases, the command will succeed the second time.
- Use a different browser or operating system to run the GUI command.
- Use the command line interface (CLI) to create the user group, using the command:
mkusergrp -name <group_name> -role <role_name>
