Fuel Index Definitions Page
Fuel indexes allow you to enter and update fuel pricesfrom the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). These prices are used tocalculate fuel surcharge accessorials.
Use the Fuel Index Definitions pageto view your fuel indexes and create new ones.
You can create as manyfuel indexes as you want. For example you might want to set up bothmonthly and weekly fuel indexes. You could use the monthly index withsome carriers and the weekly index with other carriers.
Usethe buttons on the Fuel Index Definitions pageto create and edit fuel indexes.
- Add
Opens the Add Fuel Index Definition pagewhere you can create a fuel index. For each fuel index you selectone or more PADDs.
- Edit
Opens the Edit Fuel Index Definition pagewhere you can change the name or description of an existing fuel index.Select a fuel index and then click Edit.
Note: Donot edit a fuel index to remove a PADD. Removing a PADD can causeproblems for rating existing shipments.- Edit Indexes
Opens the Fuel Index PADD Values pagewhich lists the PADD values for the selected fuel index. Select afuel index and then click Edit Indexes.
- Active/Inactive
Sets a fuel index state to Active or Inactive. You can marka fuel index as Inactive if you do not want it to be used.
Forexample you can make a fuel index inactive while you are updatingit. To change the state select the fuel index and click Active/Inactive.
When you have finished adding or editing fuel indexesclick Done to return to the Set UpContracts page.
