Problem

FTP sessions fail with "ERROR: CSocket::Send failed: Unknown Explanation" after submission of STOR command

Symptom

  • Gentran:Server for Windows, Release 5.1
  • All sessions with new FTP mailbox fail
  • Communications log shows successful log on and successful submission of  change directory and PORT command
  • "ERROR: CSocket::Send failed: Unknown Explanation" appears in communications log after submission of STOR command
  • Audit Log error "6-2-9   Error" with message "Session #####.###### for Mailbox <name> ended with status: FAILED"
  • Audit Log error "1-2-6503   Error" with message "CommMgr: Error connecting to gateway. Mailbox retcode = 1000"
  • The receiving FTP server's log shows that a connection was refused when it attempted to connect back to Gentran:Server at the IP address and port that were in the PORT command.

 

Error Message
  • "ERROR: CSocket::Send failed: Unknown Explanation" appears in communications log after submission of STOR command
  • Audit Log error "6-2-9   Error" with message "Session #####.###### for Mailbox <name> ended with status: FAILED"
  • Audit Log error "1-2-6503   Error" with message "CommMgr: Error connecting to gateway. Mailbox retcode = 1000"
