Problem
A FTP batch job using an INPUT DD fails to read the FTP subcommands in this data set, causing the FTP batch job to fail.
Symptom
A FTP batch job using an INPUT DD fails to read the FTP subcommands in this data set, causing the FTP batch job to fail.
Cause
The data set pointed to by the INPUT DD is PACKed using ISPF Edit. Data that is PACKed cannot be directly accessed by programs. Packing Data in the Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF) Edit and Edit Macros manual has more information on this.
Diagnosing The Problem
FTP batch job output will look like:
