Use of FlashCopy has grown in recent years. Repetitive flashing followed by vary on and off of an IASP can sometimes cause growth in the use of temporary storage to the point where an IPL is required to regain that storage.
IBM i 7.6 has been enhanced to slow the growth of the temporary storage due to repetitive flashing, thereby lengthening the time between required IPLs.
