When updating firmware using the Integrated Management Module (IMM) Web interface, in rare cases a dialog box is displayed with the following error message:

Solution
This behavior was corrected in the IMM release for fourth quarter 2013, version 1.42.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Workaround
Perform the flash again. Normally, repeating the process will resolve the issue.
Additional information
The symptom occurs due to a lack of synchronization between the multi-threaded/multi-process communication between the Linux Message Queue, IMM web page and the daemon process in IMM that is responsible for firmware updating.
When the communications between the parts gets out of sync, the message queue responds with an incorrect message to the web interface. The workaround will usually work.
The fix incorporates a synchronization lock.
