This document explains how you can find the currently assigned TCP/IP address for a given Virtual Display Station (*VRT) device.
Example: Suppose that you want to know the TCP/IP address of the PC where user JOHN started a Telnet session. Do the following:
Note: You can find the devices that are in use by interactive jobs by running any of the following commands from the operating system command line:
WRKACTJOB
WRKSBSJOB
WRKJOB
Example: Suppose that you want to know the TCP/IP address of the PC where user JOHN started a Telnet session. Do the following:
| 1 | You must find the interactive jobs for user JOHN to know what devices the user is currently using. From the operating system command line type the following: WRKUSRJOB USER(JOHN) STATUS(*ACTIVE) JOBTYPE(*INTERACT) Press the Enter key. |
| 2 | If the user is currently signed on, you will see something like the following: Work with User Jobs XXXXXXXX 03/15/06 10:14:37 Type options, press Enter. 2=Change 3=Hold 4=End 5=Work with 6=Release 7=Display message 8=Work with spooled files 13=Disconnect Opt Job User Type -----Status----- Function QPADEV000P JOHN INTER ACTIVE MNU-MAIN QPADEV0007 JOHN INTER ACTIVE CMD-WRKUSRJOB |
