Abstract
When you work with IBM Support for IBM Worklight, it is important to provide the version of the version you are using. The sections below include instructions to find the version for each component based on the appropriate edition.
Content
Worklight Studio (Developer Edition)
You can find the version two different ways.
- OPTION 1: The first option is to open the <studio_directory>/eclipse/artifacts.xml file which is included in the installation.
Open the file and search for the line that contains com.worklight.studio.plugin.
The version is displayed on the same line as that entry.
- OPTION 2: Alternatively, if you have Worklight Studio / Eclipse up and running, you can find the version with the following steps.
- In Eclipse, select Help > About Eclipse in the top toolbar. Note: For Mac OS, the About Eclipse option is displayed under Eclipse in the top toolbar. A pop-up window displays.
- Click the Worklight icon.
The version is displayed under the corresponding column for the Worklight provider.
For related information, see the Determining the installed version of IBM Worklight Studio Development Tools document.
Worklight Studio (Consumer and Enterprise Edition)
You can find the version three different ways.
- OPTION 1: The first option is to open the <studio_directory>\configuration\org.eclipse.update\platform.xml file which is included in the installation.
Open the file and search for the line that contains com.worklight.studio.feature.
The version is displayed on the same line as that entry.
- OPTION 2: Alternatively, if you have Worklight Studio / Eclipse running, you can find the version with the following steps.
- In Eclipse, click Help > About IBM Worklight Studio in the top toolbar. A pop-up window will open.
- Click Installation Details.
- On the Installation Details tab, locate Worklight Studio in the Name column. The version is displayed to the right of the name.
- OPTION 3: If Worklight Studio was installed with IBM Installation Manager, there is another alternative.
Locate your IBM Installation Manager shortcut. In the same location, you can use the View Installed Packages shortcut. A list of installed packages opens.
Worklight Command line (All Editions)
Enter the command mfp –version from the command line
Worklight Server (All Editions)
You can find the version three different ways.
- OPTION 1: If the server is up and running, you can find the version with the following steps; otherwise, continue to the next section.
- Ensure that your Worklight server is running.
- Open the Worklight Console.
- V6.1 and earlier: http://
: /worklight/console - V6.2 and later: http://
: /worklightconsole - Click the About link in the top right corner of the screen. A window opens and shows the current server version.
- OPTION 2: If the server is not running, you can find the version using the following steps:
- Locate the directory where Worklight Server is installed.
For example, the directory might be C:\IBM\Worklight
- Do one of the following:
- Search the install_directory\README.html file for the string “Build”.
- Navigate to the install_directory\WorklightServer directory. Open the worklight-jee-library.jar file using any archive tool that supports the .zip extension.
After the Java archive (JAR) file is expanded, - V6.1 and earlier: Open the conf/worklight.properties file and look for the build.version property.
- V6.2 and later: Open the wlPlatformVersion.properties file and look for the buildnumber property.
- OPTION 3: If Worklight Server was installed with IBM Installation Manager, there is another alternative.
Locate your IBM Installation Manager shortcut. In the same location, you can use the View Installed Packages shortcut. A list of installed packages opens.
Worklight Java EE Library (All Editions)
This library is a JAR file, which is used to build applications in Studio and run the resulting WAR file in the server. Keeping these JAR files synchronized between a development (Studio) and deployment (Server) environment is important to prevent incompatibilities.
Complete the following steps to find the version:
- Locate the directory where Worklight Server is installed.
For example, the directory might be: C:\IBM\Worklight
- Navigate to the install_directory\WorklightServer directory.
- Open the worklight-jee-library.jar file using any archive tool that supports the .zip format.
- After the JAR file is expanded, open the META_INF/MANIFEST.MF file. Within that file, the version number is defined by the Implementation-Version property.
