Problem

Jobs that have locks on IFS files may be found using Navigator for i.

Symptom

"CPFA09E - Object in use. Object is &1." or similar messages are received when access of certain IFS files (streamfiles) is attempted.

Diagnosing The Problem

"CPFA09E - Object in use. Object is &1." or similar messages are received when access of certain IFS files (streamfiles) is attempted.

Resolving The Problem

Jobs that have locks on IFS files can be found via Navigator for i. To find one or more locking jobs:

  1. Open the Integrated File System section.
  2. Navigate the IFS path to the file in question.
  3. Right-click on the file and select "Properties"
  4. Access the "Use" tab:

If the file is not in use, no job will be listed.
