Problem
Jobs that have locks on IFS files ( stream files ) may be found through Navigator for i.
Symptom
"CPFA09E - Object in use. Object is &1." or similar messages are received when access of certain IFS files (streamfiles) is attempted.
Diagnosing The Problem
"CPFA09E - Object in use. Object is &1." or similar messages are received when access of certain IFS files (streamfiles) is attempted.
Resolving The Problem
Jobs that have locks on IFS files ( streamfiles ) may be found using Navigator for i.
Using Navigator for i, the following procedure can be followed:
1. Navigate down through the file systems and IFS to the file in question.
2. Open the "Properties" of that file.
3. Access the "Use" tab.
4. If "In Use" is "yes" then a Show Usage... button will appear, click it.
5. A box will come up with the types of locks.
6. Highlight or select the lock type the click on the "Details" button to see the jobs for that lock type.
7. You can then right click on the job and select the desired option.
