Question

How do I find the serial number of an IBM Mantra appliance?

Answer

From Web interface of the Mantra Appliance

1. Open a web browser and browse the name or IP address of the target Mantra appliance.

2. Log in to Mantra's Web Interface (using Mantra user account credentials, not Console credentials).

3. In the Web Interface, select the Support tab.

4. On the left side of the window, click the Contact Info link. The output displays all contact information configured, including the Appliance Serial No. (Most contact information is user-configured through Configuration-->Contact Info. The serial number is entered during the manufacturing process.)

From CLI of the Mantra Console

1. Login to the Mantra Console. Connect to the target Mantra appliance.

2. Select System Config from the main navigation bar.

3. Select the CLI tab.

4. Click inside the window and at the prompt enter show tzcustomer. The output displays all contact information configured, including the Appliance ID. (Most contact information is user-configured through the Configuration-->Contact Info screen on the Web interface. You can set name, email, and phone number from the CLI with the tzsupport command. The serial number is entered during the manufacturing process. )
