Files Appear Corrupt or Unreadable After Encryption with Guardium Data Encryption

Troubleshooting


Problem

After applying encryption to a directory, previously existing plain-text files appear corrupt or unreadable. . In situations where new files have been added, newer files are readable whereas older files are unreadable.

Symptom

Users receive application errors when opening files with associated creator or reader applications.

Files newer than a certain date perform as expected whereas files older than a certain date fail to open.
