EZZ4308I ERROR: CODE=80100066 issued when not utilizing HiperSockets

Troubleshooting

Problem

After enabling sysplex routing and dynamic XCF for the purpose of distributed dynamic VIPA (Virtual IP Addressing), you see the following error message at TCP/IP startup: EZZ4308I ERROR: CODE=80100066 DURING ACTIVATION OF DEVICE IUTIQDIO. DIAGNOSTIC CODE: 02 HiperSockets is not being utilized under this z/OS LPAR. The VTAM start option IQDCHPID is set to ANY.

Cause

The error code 80100066 displayed in the EZZ4308I message has the following explanation:

iQDIO activation is not allowed due to an ambiguous
    configuration with specifying IQDCHPID=ANY (default),
and configuring (HCD/IOCDS) multiple IQD CHPIDs to this
logical partition (LPAR). When IQDCHPID=ANY is specified
(or defaulted) only one IQD CHPID can be configured for this LPAR.

Resolving The Problem

In this particular situation, you can safely ignore message EZZ4308I with error code 80100066.

If you are not using iQDIO (HiperSockets), you may change the value of the IQDCHPID start option to NONE. This change will prevent VTAM from activating the iQDIO from any TCP/IP stack within this LPAR, and thereby prevent the issuance of the EZZ4308I message with code 80100066.

Use the MODIFY VTAMOPTS command to dynamically change the initial setting of the IQDCHPID start option.
