"External component has thrown an exception ... ControllerReports ... System.AccessViolationException" when using 'Run Report' in Controller Excel link, triggered by using Excel Click to Run

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches the 'main' Controller program (CCR.EXE) and then clicks the green X button (to launch Excel. Inside Excel, user selects the 'Controller' Excel link menu item. User clicks 'Open Report' and then clicks 'Run Report'. An error appears.
