Abstract
If you export Date/Time fields in a report to a comma separated value (csv) file using Export Data, the resulting date time fields will contain an extra comma and not be recognized as a Date Time Field if you import the csv into XLS. (eg. March 31, 2017, 5:21 pm)
Content
You can duplicate this behavior with the WO List report.
Select a set of WO's that will display some Scheduled Start or End Dates. Run the WO List report.
Select the Export Data button on the toolbar.
Select several fields, including the date/time fields.
Export the data to CSV. Your browser will likely download as a csv file and may ask to open the resulting file with Excel.
The time date columns will display, but as text not as a date. (This is because of the extra comma in the date).
This is a known issue with the 4.3.1 Birt CSV emitter and will be fixed in a later version of Birt.
The easiest and recommended workaround for this is to create a macro to remove the extra comma from the date field and then convert the column to a date time column.
