Explanation of PFR objects status in Relationship page

Question & Answer

Question

Explanation of PFR objects status in Relationship page

Answer

When replication is by PFR (Panaces File Replicator), there will be the following two PFR processes running on primary and DR servers:
? PFRAgent The Sanovi DRM agent that interacts with PFR service.
? PFRService The PFR service process. An independent software that provides file replication services.

?1. If PFR Agent is not connected PFR fileset protection object status will be UNKNOWN because Sanovi DRM is not able to determine the status.
?2. If PFR Agent is connected status will be ACTIVE or INACTIVE.
?3. PFR protection object will be INACTIVE:
? If the fileset is not yet created.
? If the filesets are created, but replication is disabled or failed.
? If the PFR service is down.
?PFR protection object will be ACTIVE:
? If filesets are present and replication is happening.
?4. If PFR Service goes down on Primary, both primary and DR service status will be changed to INACTIVE.
? If PFR Service goes down on DR, both primary and DR service status will be changed to INACTIVE.
?5. If Panaces Server was restarted initially status of PFR service would be UNKNOWN. It is changed to ACTIVE or INACTIVE status once the Agents are connected.
