Exclude cases listwise and exclude cases pairwise gives different results with only one analysis.

Question & Answer

Question

Linear regression with Y as dependent variable and X as covariate: Exclude cases listwise and exclude cases pairwise gives different results. I would expect the results to be the same as explained in Technote #1475199, since I do only one analysis. Why are there differences?
