Question & Answer
Question
The Query Rewrite component is an essential part of the DB2 Query Compiler. It will transform and improve the representation of an SQL statement according to algebraic rules, leading to better execution plans which are semantically equivalent to the input SQL. However there are some exception cases where this does not happen automatically and a manual rewrite can be done to help with execution time.
