Troubleshooting
Problem
The following pop-up is presented when trying to save the network configuration with the Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) web User Interface (UI): SETVARVALUE(STRING) for variable failed, rc=3[DataInvalid] This occurs when an Internet Protocolversion 4 (IPv4) static Internet Protocol (IP) address is configured and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) v6 is enabled. The settings will not be saved when this occurs.

Symptom
The following pop-up is presented when trying to save the network configuration with the Integrated Management Module II (IMM2) web User Interface (UI):

This occurs when an Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) static Internet Protocol (IP) address is configured and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) v6 is enabled.
The settings will not be saved when this occurs.

The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 2585, any model
- Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 7864, any model
- Flex System x220 Compute Node, type 7906, any model
- Flex System x240 Compute Node, type 8737, any model
- Flex System x240 Compute Node, type 8738, any model
- Flex System x440 Compute Node, type 2584, any model
- Flex System x440 Compute Node, type 7917, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected:
- IMM2 Build ID: 1AOO40E
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This behavior was corrected in IMM2 firmware Version 2.06, Build ID: 1AOO42B and later.
The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/
Workaround
The IMM Command Line Interface (CLI) can be used to configure the network settings.
