Error when compiling Java Bean code generated from a XML Schema: Too many constants, the constant pool for XXXX would exceed 65536 entries

Problem

When Java™ Bean code is generated from a very large schema, IBM® Rational® Application Developer (RAD) shows an error []Too many constants, the constant pool for XXXX would exceed 65536 entries[] in the Problems view.

Symptom

The "Too many constants, the constant pool for XXXX would exceed 65536 entries" error is shown in the Problems view of RAD version 7.0.

Steps to recreate the problem:

  1. Create a new Dynamic Web Project
  2. Import an existing large XML schema
  3. Generate Java Bean code by right clicking on the XML schema, and select Generate -> Java -> SDO Generator
  4. Select the "Source" directory and click "Finish"
