Error: Too Many Fields Defined, when renaming a field using ClearQuest Designer with an Access database

Problem

This technote explains the cause of a Too Many Fields Defined error that can occur in IBM® Rational® ClearQuest®. This error is known to occur when running queries in the ClearQuest client, or defining fields in the ClearQuest Designer, when using a Microsoft® Access database.
