Problem
After opening a node in Cognos Connection the following mesage is displayed to the user. An error has occured which may require you to take action to avoid losing data. You should save a local copy of the data (to file or export to Excel) or take the node off-line then restart the application. You should notify your Administrator of this error. Click the Details button for further information. Clicking on the 'Details' button displays the folowing: An unregistered error has occured - please contact your system administrator Unable to open connection using connection string of Provider=SQLNCLI;Data Source=12-abc-ABCDE\PLANNING;UID=cognos;PWD=********* and timeout of 3 seconds.~~TCP Provider: Timeout error [258] The planningerrorlog.csv file captures the following message: Server Error Rxd: src=GenericRequestServer.cpp:perform:187, errNum=0, params=, desc=Unable to open connection using connection string of Provider=SQLNCLI;Data Source=12-abc-ABCDE\PLANNING;UID=cognos;PWD=********* and timeout of 3 seconds.~~TCP Provider: Timeout error [258].
