Problem
This technote provides solutions to SQL Server not found errors when trying to log into a Microsoft® SQL Server database from IBM® Rational® ClearQuest®.
Symptom
When attempting to log into the SQL Server database from ClearQuest, you can encounter the following errors:
"Unable to logon to the SQL_SERVER database "XXXXX". The vendor error message was: SQLDRIVERCONNECT: RETCODE=-1, State=08001, Native Error=6[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets] Specified SQL Server not found.
A variation of this error is:
Warning - Invalid LoginThe login name "admin" or password you entered is incorrect.
Unable to logon to the SQL_SERVER database "xxxxxx". The vendor error message was:
SQLDRIVERCONNECT: RETCODE=-1, State=08001, Native Error=6
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]Specified SQL Server not found.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][DBNETLIB]ConnectionOpen (Connect()).
