Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote explains an error that occurs when re-registering DLL files for IBM® Rational® ClearQuest on Microsoft® Windows®.

Symptom

The DLLs, package files, and other program files for ClearQuest can be re-registered independent of the Add/Remove Programs screen of Windows by running rereg.bat from a command prompt in the following directory:

C:\Program Files\Rational\ClearQuest

When running this command, the following errors may be seen on the screen:

regsvr32 /c /s .\cqweb_util.dll
    ERROR: Registration failed. Exit status: 3

regsvr32 /c /s .\cqfilecache.dll
   ERROR: Registration failed. Exit status: 3
