Error: ORA-10615 Invalid tablespace type for temporary tablespace

Troubleshooting


Problem

The error "ORA-10615 Invalid tablespace type for temporary tablespace" is returned.

Cause

The Tablespace type is set to a value other than Temporary.

Resolving The Problem

This error occurs during the installation of WebSphere® InterChange Server. While configuring the Oracle database for use with InterChange Server, you must create an Interchange System database user (wicsadmin). Before you create this user, you must create a default tablespace and default temporary tablespace. When creating the default temporary tablespace, make sure that the tablespace type is set to Temporary. If the default temporary tablespace is set to a value other than Temporary, this error is returned.

You can edit the Oracle tablespace using the command line SQL commands or using Oracle Enterprise Manager.
