Error message when IMM default password is changed - IBM BladeCenter and System x

Problem

When logged in to the IMM with the default USERID or PASSWORD combination, the following error message is seen when the password is changed: COULD NOT MODIFY PASSWORD: FAILED TO MODIFY INSTANCE However, the new password works the next time a login occurs. This message can safely be ignored.

Symptom

When logged in to the IMM with the default USERID or PASSWORD combination, the following error message is seen when the password is changed:

The following system firmware level is affected:

  • IMM v1.25 (YUOO91K)

The system has the symptom described above.

Solution

This behavior was correct in Integrated Management Module (IMM) Version 1.28, Build ID: YUOOB7C or later versions.

The file is available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
