ERROR: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException, when executing a test script

Problem

This technote explains why the error, "java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Array index out of range", occurs when using IBM® Rational® ClearQuest® TestManager (CQTM) for test execution.

Symptom

When executing a configured test case (CTC), this error occurs:

java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: Array index out of range: 1


The error happens at the beginning of the execution, and may only occur with older CTC records.
