'An error has occurred in the script on this page ... CCognosViewer' is undefined" errors when running standard reports, caused by faulty Cognos Analytics gateway

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches Controller client. User runs a 'standard report'. An error appears.
User acknowledges the error, but a fresh (similar) error appears, which the user acknowledges. This repeats several times.
