Troubleshooting


Problem

When a new user tries to open any IBM® Rational® application (including IBM Rational ClearCase® LT) with an existing IBM Rational DevelopmentStudio® Suite for UNIX® License, the following error occurs, FLEXlm -18,147 License server does not support this feature.

Cause

This error can occur if the user environment settings are not configured correctly.

Resolving The Problem

Confirm the following UNIX environment settings for licensing are configured correctly:

RSU_LICENSE_MAP=/<RationalInstallPath/config/License_Map
LM_LICENSE_FILE=27000@<hostname>

Syntax to manually set these settings:

setenv LM_LICENSE_MAP /<path to License_Map>/License_Map


To permanently add these environment settings to a user login add the setenv line to the user .cshrc (or .kshrc) file.
