Error: Database configuration for multi-tenancy failed.

Troubleshooting


Problem

During the configuration process of a multi-tenancy deployment of Maximo Asset Management, you receive the error: "Database configuration for multi-tenancy failed". Searching the log files, you see the following information: DB21034E  The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command.  During SQL processing it returned: SQL0204N  "MXSERVER" is an undefined name.  SQLSTATE=42704 . . . Issue grants for ctginst1 DB21034E  The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command.  During SQL processing it returned: SQL0554N  An authorization ID cannot grant a privilege or authority to itself. SQLSTATE=42502 DB21034E  The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command.  During SQL processing it returned: SQL0554N  An authorization ID cannot grant a privilege or authority to itself. SQLSTATE=42502 DB21034E  The command was processed as an SQL statement because it was not a valid Command Line Processor command.  During SQL processing it returned: SQL0554N  An authorization ID cannot grant a privilege or authority to itself.

Resolving The Problem

These errors occur when the Registration User and Configuration Manager share the same ID or one of them matches the database instance name.

Ensure that the Registration User and Configuration Manager use unique IDs and that they do not match the name of the database instance.
