Problem

Error 'Could not find type to assign XML data' when processing XML Data.

Symptom

Error 'Could not find type to assign XML data' when processing XML Data.

Cause

An additional element was added to the Input XML data file.

For example :

<foo>bar</foo>

Environment

Using IBM Transformation Extender (ITX) map to parse XML input data using either a Native XSD or Xerces generated Type tree using the 'Well formed' option.

Diagnosing The Problem

Error 'Could not find type to assign XML data' is contained with the ITX XML Log file.

Resolving The Problem

If you would like to process fields that are not defined in the schema you would need to add the type definitions to the schema and then regenerate the Type Tree.
