While working in the IBM Notes® client, you see the following error message:
"Context toolbar not found"
Resolving The Problem
This error occurs if a predefined context sensitive toolbar (such as Navigate View, Read Document, Edit Document, etc.) is not present in the outline in bookmark.nsf where toolbar data is stored. This indicates a corrupt bookmark database.
The best thing you can do to troubleshoot is manually replace the design of your local Bookmark.nsf file, which will restore the toolbar outline. To do this, first be sure to select the Bookmarks icon on the Notes Workspace. Then select File > Application > Replace Design. In the Replace Design dialog box that appears select the "Show Advanced Templates" checkbox, and the Bookmarks template should appear in the box above. Select it and select the Replace button.
This error, or variants, can also occur when the Bookmark.nsf contains custom design elements and/or design elements that were flagged to prevent refreshing or replacing. To work around this issue, exit the Notes client and edit the notes.ini file. Locate the entry, "BookmarkDesignReplaced=0", and reset its value from 0 to 1. This will force the bookmark design to update.
NOTE: If resetting the BookmarkDesignReplaced parameter does not resolve the issue, then make the following changes to the notes.ini entries:
The above value match with Notes 9.0.1 version.
