Error connecting to Planning Analytics from PA for Excel

Troubleshooting


Problem

An error message is displayed in Planning Analytics for Excel after the environment to connect to is chosen, and before the login prompt comes up.

Symptom

Error Message:
The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail. (Exception from HRESULT: 080073681)
