Troubleshooting


Problem

A hung image backup caused any subsequent image backups to fail with the error BMR0041E

Cause

A hung image backup caused any subsequent image backups to fail.

Resolving The Problem


At an AIX prompt, run the following command:

#smity sysback
--->> TSM Configuration
--->> TSM Backup Management
--->> Query TSM Backup Images
Select a TSM Virtual Device

This list will show an image backup which is in OPEN state.

This open image backup is the reason why the currently running image backup failed and must be deleted.

In the smity menu, go back to TSM Backup Management and Remove a TSM Backup Image

This will allow further image backups to run.
