Troubleshooting
Problem
Users may find that SiteProtector component updates fail with an "Authenticode signature verification failed" error.
Symptom
Errors like the following might be shown in the
InstallXPU.txt for the failing update:
ComponentUpgrade::verifyAuthenticodeSignature Authenticode signature verification failed for ISS_Installer.exe: A certificate chain that is processed, but terminated in a root certificate, which is not trusted by the trust provider. [ID=0x800b0109]
ComponentUpgrade::verifyAuthenticodeSignature Authenticode signature verification failed for DB_SP_3_1_1_32.xpu: A certificate chain might not be built to a trusted root authority. [ID=0x800b010a]
