Error "ActiveX component can't create object" returned when executing a *.vbs script on a 64-bit windows system

Troubleshooting


Problem

A VBScript which runs on 32-bit Windows returns a "Windows Script Host" error when executed on 64-bit Windows. In this special case the VBScript task was to automate Transformer 8.4 by OLE automation.

Symptom

The complete error (on a german OS) is:
