Error 500 accessing the PME Console, and a ClassNotFoundException error in the WebSphere logs

Troubleshooting

Problem

The current installation documentation for PME Console version 10.0 does not clearly state to use only the directory path and NOT the filename for the Native Library Path to libMAD.so, libMAD.a, or libMAD.dll. This will be corrected by documentation APAR JR43502.

Symptom

If you include both the path and the filename, the following error will be returned:

com.ibm.ws.webcontainer.webapp.WebApp logError SRVE0293E: [Servlet Error]-[Failed to load
listener: com.ibm.mdm.eme.web.config.listener.MatchingServiceContextListener]:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.ibm.mdm.eme.api.exception.MatchingServiceException
at java.lang.J9VMInternals.verifyImpl(Native Method)
