Error -206 / SQL0206 using Data Edit functionality with DB2 z/OS in Compatibility Mode (CM)

Troubleshooting


Problem

You attempt to edit table data using the Data Edit functionality in Data Studio and you receive error -206 or SQL0206 similar to this: com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlSyntaxErrorException: IS NOT VALID IN THE CONTEXT WHERE IT IS USED. SQLCODE=-206, SQLSTATE=42703, DRIVER=3.62.80

Symptom

com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.SqlSyntaxErrorExceptio exception reporting error -206.
