Problem

This technote explains why installing IBM® Rational® ClearCase® or ClearQuest® from a remote release area on Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003 or Windows 2008 R2 using Remote Desktop can cause "Error 1075 - the dependency does not exist or has been marked for deletion." during startup.

Symptom


After installing ClearCase or ClearQuest from a remote Enterprise Deployment Release Area on Windows Server 2003 through Remote Desktop, the following error occurs while attempting to start ClearCase or ClearQuest:

Error 1075 - the dependency does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

Example configuration:

XP client using Remote Desktop --> 2003 Server --> Release area
