Error 1069 on failover operation in MSCS Environment

Problem

Instance failover may fail due to insufficient user permission in MSCS Environment. While performing MSCS failover if user don't have sufficient user/domain group permission. Failover will error out with following messages in the Cluster logs ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INFO [RES] DB2 Server : DB2ServerOnline (10) -> DB2WolfOnline INFO [RCM] HandleMonitorReply: ONLINERESOURCE for 'DB2', gen(22) result 997. INFO [RCM] TransitionToState(DB2) OnlineCallIssued-->OnlinePending. ERR [RES] DB2 Server : Error 1069 bringing resource online. ERR [RHS] Online for resource DB2 failed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This system error is returned by the StartService Windows API. Here is the error description for 'ERROR_SERVICE_LOGON_FAILED' specifically when returned by this API: ------------ The service did not start due to a logon failure. This error occurs if the service is configured to run under an account that does not have the "Log on as a service" right. the failover user is unable to start DB2 as a service due to incorrect login credentials Please revise the login credentials supplied for the "DB2" service by checking its Service properties via the Computer Management->Services panel. In addition to this, please ensure that the supplied login account name has the "Log on as a service" right. -------------.

Symptom

Error 1069 in Cluster Log while bringing resource online
