Question & Answer

Question

I do not have an HMC. How can I add my VET code to the server?

Answer

If you do not have an HMC, in order to add a new VET code to the server, you must use the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI).

Prerequisites:

o VET code from the IBM Entitled Systems Support (ESS) Web site: https://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/ess/ProtectedServlet.wss#
o Access to ASMI.

Note:
If you do not have a password, you must contact IBM Support to get a temporary celogin ID/password.

To add a new VET code to the server using ASMI, you should do the following:

2. Select CoD Activation.
3. Enter the VET code and select Continue.
