Troubleshooting
Problem
Customer is publishing Controller data to a separate (data mart) database, by using the menu item "Transfer - Publish Data and Structures - Publish Data Mart".
- In other words, they are doing something similar to what is described inside separate IBM Technote #1346694.
Customer is using a separate (non-Controller) tool to report from that Data Mart database.
- In other words, it reads data from that database, after Controller has written its data to it.
Customer is experiencing 'deadlock' problems.
Symptom
Customer seeing deadlocks occurring on the SQL server. This is an indication of slow performance being triggered because two processes are trying to lock the data (in the database tables) simultaneously.
The Microsoft SQL setting "READ_COMMITTED_SNAPSHOT" is known to reduce deadlocks in some situations.
- However, does IBM support using it (for the data mart database)?
