Enable SQL log backup can fail with System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null

Problem

The Enable Log Back up for Microsoft SQL Databases in IBM Spectrum Protect Plus can fail with System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.

Symptom

The error seen in the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus job log will be as follows:
CTGGA2081,Failed to enable log backup for SQLSERVER ==> SQLDB [ path1  Enable log backup failed: System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
