How To
Summary
Trying to create a conditional format rule in an Analyst's Notebook environment that is connected to iBase, only bold values in the Property type field are eligible for selection. Choosing a property type that is not bold would result in a conditional format rule that does not apply to any items on the chart.
The bold values come from the Charting Schemes that are built in iBase. User can control what property types get pushed over to the chart and thus become available for use.
Objective
Apply conditional formatting to different property types.
Environment
iBase
Analyst's Notebook
Steps
1. In iBase, open the Charting Schemes section. We are using the Association Data charting scheme for this example.
2. Select the Person entity. Under Data Records, select "All". The default value may be "Assigned Only" which limits what fields may be used for conditional formatting.
3. Now in Analyst's Notebook, change to the correct charting scheme that was just modified. The charting scheme can be changed from the iBase data sources Pane.
4. If an entity is now brought from iBase to the Analyst's Notebook chart, it is possible to view which properties are available by opening up the record on the chart.
5. A new conditional formatting specification in Analyst's Notebook will have these property types eligible for use.
6. Now we run the specification. For this example, we want to change the icon frame to orange for any Person records that have a last name property.
