Problem

Emulex OCManager might not display correct details of Network Interface Controller (NIC), or Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) for the Flex System CN4054R 10 Gb Virtual Fabric Adapter adapter. The information is incorrect with respect to how the NIC and FCOE ports are configured. The Emulex OCM (OCManager) utility is a graphical software representation of the configuration of the adapter. This issue does not affect the functionality of the hardware or the software working correctly in the operatingsystem. There is no loss of functionality.

Symptom

Emulex OCManager might not display correct details of Network Interface Controller (NIC), or Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) for the IBM Flex System CN4054R 10 Gb Virtual Fabric Adapter adapter.

The information is incorrect with respect to how the NIC and FCOE ports are configured.

The Emulex OCM (OCManager) utility is a graphical software representation of the configuration of the adapter.

This issue does not affect the functionality of the hardware or the software working correctly in the operating system. There is no loss of functionality.

Affected configurations

The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:

Flex System CN4054R 10 Gb Virtual Fabric Adapter, option part number 00Y3306, any replacement part number

This tip is not system specific.

This tip is not software specific.

Solution

This behavior will be corrected in a future release of GA6.0.

The target date for this release is third quarter 2014 (August 2014).

The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:

http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/

Workaround

All information pertaining to the hardware configuration is readily available to the user in the operating system, or configuration files, or similar operation system files depending on kernel type.

The Emulex CLI hbacmd utility is also available.

(where CLI = Command Line Interface)

The UEF F1 Setup Menu, operating system Device Manager, operating system configuration files, and so forth, all have the correct information.

This issue is related only to the Emulex OneCommandManager (OCM).

This issue does not affect the functionality of the hardware or the software working correctly in the operating system. There is no loss of functionality.

Additional information

The misrepresentation of the the configuration is contained only in the Emulex One Command Manager utility. Some data might be omitted, such as port information with respect to Media Access Control (MAC) address or connectivity.
