Abstract

This is a JSF Widget Library (JWL) fix which is embedded in InfoSphere MDM Server Business Admin UI (BA UI) and Data Stewardship UI (DS UI).

InfoSphere MDM Server version 8.5 makes use of Rational Application Developer (RAD)/Rational Software Architect (RSA) version 7.0.x.y capabilities. The embedded JWL in the UI products is JWL verson 3.0.8 shipped with RAD 7.0.0.6.

An issue with high CPU consumption was found which was caused by SQL injection attack. This issue can be fixed by replacing the embedded JWL to version 3.0.14 in a location such as:
/<WASInstallationLocation>/installedApps/.../<BAUIApplication>/CustomerBusinessAdminWeb.war/WEB-INF/lib

/<WASInstallationLocation>/installedApps/.../<DSUIApplicaion>/CustomerDataStewardshipWeb.war/WEB-INF/lib

It is recommended to always use the latest version of supported JWL. In this case, it's JWL version 3.0.14 shipped with RAD 7.0.0.10 iFix001.

Installation Instructions

1. Back up the original JWL.
2. Copy the new JWL
3. Restart the UI.
